What began as an electrifying moment at the SHMF in 2023 and was celebrated with wild enthusiasm now returns with even greater brilliance: star violinist Daniel Hope and Swedish jazz legend Nils Landgren come together once again—two musical personalities who embody curiosity, openness, and musical excellence in their own unique ways. In this concert, worlds seem to merge effortlessly. Classical masterpieces meet great songs of the 20th century, chamber music meets jazz, delicate lines meet warm timbres. Dvořák’s lyrical Sonatina stands alongside Bach’s D minor Concerto, while songs by Sting, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, and James Taylor appear in new, surprising perspectives. Everything is imbued with the elegance and joy of playing that characterizes both artists: Daniel Hope’s luminous violin, which narrates and poses questions, and Nils Landgren’s unmistakable trombone, which sings, swings, and moves the soul. This program thrives on dialogue, on shared breathing, on attentive listening—an evening full of colors, emotions, and spontaneous magic, carried by the experience of two exceptional musicians who have found each other and will once again captivate their audience.
