The Green Vestibule has always served as an entrance hall to the castle. The inventory suggests that it was frugally furnished. In the 19th century, it contained a bronze bell, lanterns, a fire-extinguisher and fire buckets as can be seen in the staircase.
The current furnishings consist of salute-cannons, family portraits – among them the picture of the last Duke Friedrich Heinrich Wilhelm (1747-1779) of Schleswig-Holstein-Glücksburg (of the elder line) – ‘Angeliter’ wedding chests as well as the sedan chair of the Landgravine of Hessen-Cassel. Some of the paving stones from Öland contain fossils.
